Laos' International Airline
In operation for over 40 years, Lao Airlines is the national carrier of Laos and services national and international routes throughout South East Asia. After Lao became a democratic republic and the country's infrastructure was given a shake up, there was a merger between Royal Air Lao and Lao Air Lines in 1976. The new national carrier began operations with a fleet of Western Aircraft, including helicopters, for charter flights and delivering cargo to remote regions.
In the 1980s thanks to an overhaul, the airline equipped itself with planes from China and the Soviet Union. A joint venture with a Chinese airline meant that Lao Airlines continued to move forward as the international competition for the Asian market heated up. With the addition of two jet aircraft in the form of Airbus A320s in 2011, the airline was able to offer a business class service to passengers in a brand new aircraft.
Today, Lao Airlines operates from a hub at Wattay International Airport and currently has 11 aircraft in its fleet and services 18 destinations across Asia, with its main focus being on the cities of Phnom Penh, Bangkok, Seoul and Ho Chi Minh City. They currently offer charter flights for business customers and are locally known for their excellent safety record, on-time flights and fantastic customer service. For those wanting to experience the warmth and exciting culture of Laos, there's no better time to visit the South East Asian paradise with Lao Airlines.

For Business class passengers, the new Airbus A320s offer larger seats, more personal space, complimentary welcome beverages and great cabin service. They also allow a higher baggage allowance and in several airports, access to exclusive VIP cabins. Long-haul flights also offer a gourmet menu of local and international cuisine.
