Pride Of The Pacific, Nauru Airlines
Nauru Airlines is the principal operator of flights to and from the Central and South Pacific with over 40 years experience. The company is proud to carry the national flag of Nauru and is owned wholly by the state. It provides scheduled services to Brisbane in Australia, the Solomon Islands, Fiji and three smaller destinations (the Republic of Kiribati, the Marshall Islands and the Federated States of Micronesia). The head office is based at Nauru International Airport with an operations office in Brisbane, Australia. The airline provides vital services across the Pacific for visitors and local communities alike.
The company was originally founded on the 14th February 1970 and named Air Nauru, with its first flight to Brisbane. This was an experimental flight using a chartered jet. Regular services commenced in January 1972 following the purchase of a Fokker F28 Fellowship twin jet aircraft. Since 1996, the airline has operated under the Australian civil aviation regulations. The company was rebranded as Our Airline in 2006. On 1st August 2014, the name of Nauru Airlines was officially adopted to reflect the close ties with the population of Nauru. The fleet now compromises 6 Boeing 737's, each comfortably carrying 130 passengers.
Nauru Airlines prides itself on friendly service, treating its passengers to unique Pacific-style hospitality. It has one of the best safety standards throughout the world, thanks to its adherence to Australian regulations, particularly in the compulsory training of the pilots and engineers. The company holds an Australian Air Operator's Certificate.
