The town of Pamukkale (meaning “castle of cotton” in Turkish) is a real natural phenomenon in Turkey. Because the water contains so much calcium carbonate, thick packages of the minerals then forms travertines along the terraces. This is what gives you the spectacular view. The water temperature is 35°C making it a perfect “hot tub”!
Szechenyi Thermal Baths in Budapest
Budapest has several thermal baths (e.g. Gellert and Lukacs) so it’s a real wellness destination. But Szechenyi is great, not just because of its huge size. With no less than 18 baths (15 indoor and 3 outdoor) with different functions, as well as, 10 saunas and steam rooms. It’s relaxing, fun, affordable and romantic at night.

The Caves of Miskolctapolca in Miskolc
Hungary, as has already been said, is a real wellness hub with over 1200 thermal springs. The Caves of Miskolctapolca are very special because of their location. The thermal water is known to soothe muscle pain and has a comforting temperature of 30°C or 86°F. Due to the low salt level, you can bathe in it for much longer.
The Blue Lagoon in Iceland
The most famous from the list! The Blue Lagoon geothermal spa is one of the most visited places in Iceland. The temperature fluctuates between 37-39°C or 98-102°F so it is very warm, but it's great to help you relax. The water is rich in minerals and is beneficial for people with psoriasis or eczema. You can also apply a mud mask with the mud from the Lagoon.
Saturnia Hot Springs in Italy
Last, but not least: you will also find wonderful thermal baths in Italy. More specifically in the village of Manciano, a few kilometres from Saturnia, there is the hot springs in Saturnia. Make sure to put on your swimming clothes in advance, because there are no changing rooms. The water here is also a blissful 36°C and contains magnesium, carbonate and algae, which softens your skin and gives your hair a silky shine. You just have to deal with the smell of sulphur.
