How many bags can I bring as hand luggage?
You can take one piece of hand luggage per person with you during your flight.
In some cases, in addition to your hand baggage, you can bring an extra piece of baggage that you can put under the seat in front of you.
You can do this if you:
- Are an Easyjet Plus card holder.
- Have bought a Flexi ticket.
- Have booked a seat in the front row or a seat with legroom.
- Travelling with a child under 2 years old.
How heavy can my hand luggage be?
Your hand luggage has no weight limit at Easyjet. The only thing to keep in mind is that you need to be able to lift the suitcase into the overhead bin yourself without the help of the flight crew.
How big can my hand luggage be?
With Easyjet, your hand luggage can be up to 56 x 45 x 25 cm. If you wish to put your luggage under the seat in front of you, it must not be larger than 45 x 36 x 20 cm. If your luggage is larger, you must have it stored in the hold for a fee.
If you want to be sure that you can take your hand luggage with you in the cabin, make sure that your luggage fits under the seat. If you have a hand luggage suitcase with you, it is possible that it will be carried in the hold free of charge. There is not enough space in the aircraft cabin to carry a hand luggage suitcase for all passengers.
What can I take in my hand luggage with Easyjet?
There are a number of things to consider when packing your hand luggage. For example, all of your liquids must be packed in containers no larger than 100 ml and these must fit in a transparent bag with a maximum capacity of 1 litre. At the security check, put them separately in a container for inspection.
There are some exceptions to these hand baggage rules:
- Baby food (Read here more about travelling with a baby)
- Medication (only if you can show a medical certificate)
There is no limit to these items so you can take as much of them with you as you want. You don't need to be in your transparent liquid pouch either.
Can I also travel with checked baggage?
Flying with a large suitcase? You can choose your luggage during your booking or add it later. You can also book additional luggage at the airport, which is a little more expensive.
A normal checked baggage can weigh up to 23 kg. However, you can book additional weight in units of 3 kg.
The maximum weight per checked baggage is 32 kg and the maximum total size is less than 275 cm (length + width + height). Each passenger is allowed to check in a maximum of 3 pieces of luggage.
I am travelling with a baby, what can I take with me?
When booking, add the number of babies / children and their ages. There are 2 ways you can travel with a baby (up to 2 years old):
Baby on your lap
With Easyjet it is possible to take the baby (aged 14 days to 2 years) on your lap during the flight for a surcharge. Hand luggage cannot be carried for the baby, but you can bring a changing bag. This can be a maximum of 45 x 36 x 20 cm.
Baby on its own seat
- A baby (aged 14 days to 2 years) can sit in their own armchair during the flight, provided a car seat is used. Only forward-facing seats are allowed on Easyjet flights.
A baby with its own seat is entitled to hand luggage and an additional diaper bag can be taken. This can be a maximum of 45 x 36 x 20 cm.
In addition, two baby items are allowed per baby or child at no additional cost, such as a stroller or a car seat. The stroller can be brought to the gate, where it can be labeled and placed in the hold. Of course, you can always book extra checked baggage on the website.
As mentioned earlier, you can bring as much baby food as you like. This applies to baby milk, powdered milk and sterilized water. The baby food does not have to fit in your fluid bag; it can be carried loose in your bag. However, show them separately at the security checkpoint. There is also the possibility that you will be asked to test the products yourself for safety reasons. Baby facilities are available on board the aircraft.
I'm travelling with a child, what can I take with me?
Children from 2 to 15 years
If you are travelling with children, book a regular seat. The child can also take 1 piece of hand luggage with them.
For small children, you can also take 2 items (such as a stroller or car seat) with you free of charge.
What happens if the hand luggage is too heavy or too big?
A suitcase that is too large or heavy costs 14 pounds per kilo (per piece of luggage and per flight) at the gate. So always check the size and weight of your luggage before leaving home.
Tip: Make sure that your suitcase is not larger and / or heavier than allowed. Pack your bags a few days in advance and weigh them. If you exceed the maximum weight, you can still book checked baggage at an extra cost.
Now that your hand luggage has been checked, book your flight with Easyjet.
