No matter what time of year you make your way to Cebu, there will always be something to get involved in. With so many events spread across the calendar year, we've drawn up a list of our favourites:
The most important religious festival in the city and beyond, this event is held on the third Sunday of January and venerates the local saint, Santo Nino. Comparable to Mardi Gras in some countries, this is the biggest occasion to enjoy street parties, feasts and dancing through the night.
This military parade, seen annually every February, marks the charter day of the city and is worth trying to catch if you are visiting at the time.
If you happen to be in the region in April you won't want to miss this grand event when the region's history is re-enacted on the streets of the city.
This Festival is held in October, just before the start of the dry season. It includes a beautiful parade and show of paper dragons followed by a firework display.
This is a month long Christmas celebration that occurs during the whole of December and includes Christmas parades and carol singing.
