Laanta Lanta Festival (March)

The Birthday of Queen Sirikit (August)

On August 12th the town of Krabi glows with glimmering lights, festive decorations and portraits to celebrate the birthday of Queen Sirikit. Locals decorate their homes in celebration and public events include an alms ceremony, a traditional candle lighting ceremony, and fireworks displays.

Krabi Boek Fa Andaman (The Opening the Andaman Sea - November)

For 3 days each November, this Indian-Inspired festival marks the beginning of the tourist season. Featuring water sports competitions, parades, cultural and dance performances this is a festival of traditional food, drinks and fun.

The Chao Le (Sea Gypsies) Boats (May and October)

A festival that celebrates the nomadic Chao Le/ Gypsies of the Sea, this event occurs during the full moon nights of the 6th and 11th traditional lunar months. The Chao Le gather and dance their traditional "rong ngeng" and the ceremonial boats are sent out to sea amid uproarious singing and dancing. Feast of hundreds of food and drink options and party the night away.
