72-Hour Itinerary across Saudi Arabia

Experience Saudi Arabia during your stopover

Not sure what to do on your stopover in Saudi Arabia? Here is a 72-Hour Itinerary across Saudi Arabia that will take you to the must-see spots of this incredible country!

Day 1: Makkah-Jeddah

  • Visit the holy city of Makkah and it's hidden gems. Non-Muslim visitors are not allowed in some parts of the city, however, you can always visit the beautiful complex of the Grand Mosque and some great museums that the city offers.
  • Stop in Jeddah (just an hour far from Makkah) to take a glance at the most 'different city' in the whole country. This happened due to all the different influences that combined in this port city over the years. Here you can visit the Al Balad, one of Saudi's UNESCO sites, as well as luxurious resorts on the beach.

Day 2: AlUla-Tabuk

  • Moving on to the north, you can start off your second day by visiting AlUla. Here, you can really dive into the country's most ancient roots and history. The whole city is a true living museum: from the rock tombs of Hegra to the labyrinth of mudbrick houses to the rock inscriptions at Jabal Ikmah and so much more.
  • Not too far away from AlUla, you can find the city of Tabuk. This is the right place if you want to be surrounded by nature and breathtaking landscapes. Stop at the Al Disah Valley if you want to take a break from the sight of sandy deserts and some green vegetation.

Day 3: Riyadh

  • For the last day of your stopover it seems obvious that you need to visit Riyadh, the capital city. This metropolis seems to build a bridge between the modern looking part of the city and the country's ancient history. For example, here you can find the Saudi National Museum that documents the history of the country over the centuries. You could also stop at the Souq Al Zal, a noisy and vibrant ancient market where you could find perfect souvenirs.
